A Note from Elizabeth
In 2022, I took a leap of faith and retired from non-profit leadership. As a consultant, I hope to continue to share my expertise with individuals, groups, organizations, and communities to support them in reaching their full potential. In addition to over 30 years in social justice fields, leading organizations, my lived experience includes supporting loved ones through traumatic experiences of intimate partner violence, addictions, homelessness, and mourning the loss of loved ones to AIDS, cancer, gun violence, and addictions. I believe learning to be a lifelong journey and caring for myself contributes to the overall health of my family and community. My passion is in establishing and strengthening trauma informed systems that support providing empathetic and compassionate care to those seeking our help. Equally I find creativity to be a great catalyst towards healing, and I truly enjoy helping others along their healing journeys through engaging in art.
Fun Facts:
I am a Native California, born and raised in Los Angeles, with Chumash, Yaqui, & European Ancestry. I continue to live in the City of Angels with my partner, Gerard, and our fur babies, Chief Rascal & Dagger.
In 2015, I co-authored two chapters in the social work text book Transformative social work practice (Sage Publications).
I am minister for the Church of The Open Road and look forward to officiating my first marriage ceremony soon!
Travel, music, Native ceremonies, nature, laughter and spending time with loved ones feeds my spirit and strengthens my ability to support others.
